eLearning Frenzy

My name is Jacob Spradlin.  I am the Associate Director for Training and Development for SHSU Online (the DELTA Center) at Sam Houston State University.  I hold a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and have over 16 years of work experience in the field.  My primary role in my current job is to equip online, face-to-face, and hybrid teaching faculty with the technical know how and pedagogical best practices for teaching while using technology.  My favorite mantra when I work with faculty at SHSU is:

It’s the method, not the medium!

I have had the added benefit of teaching as an adjunct for the College of Education at Sam Houston State University.    I truly feel that my job allows me to be part of something greater than myself.  Educating tomorrow’s leaders is a noble pursuit, and so is working with the Faculty who are on the front lines in this endeavor.

I have the good fortune of being married to my college sweetheart Kim and we have two wonderful daughters, Hailey and Faith. I recently completed my first Marathon.  After almost 40 years of being mostly sedentary, I have found a method of exercise, meditation and stress relief that works for me.
